About Stonedge Two generations of stone

A family marble business from Makrana, now an Ahmedabad stone house supplying, fabricating and installing natural stone for homes, architects and builders.

Our story

Stonedge began with a family that has worked in the marble trade for decades, rooted in Makrana — the Rajasthan town whose marble built some of India’s most famous monuments.

The second generation brought that knowledge to Ahmedabad. Our family still keeps its own stockyard in Makrana, which means we see the blocks before they are cut and choose slabs ourselves rather than ordering from a catalogue. Over the years our work has grown from trading to a complete service: sourcing Indian and imported stones, cutting and finishing them in our own workshop, and executing projects on site.

Most of our work has been business-to-business — builders, contractors and architects who need reliable quality and quantities. Today we are also opening our doors to homeowners building or renovating bungalows and premium flats, who want customised marble chosen with the same care. Our Display Center in Shela exists so you can see real slabs, compare finishes and plan your stone with us in person.

What we believe

Natural stone is a once-in-a-lifetime purchase for most families. It should be chosen honestly — real slabs, clear advice about how each stone behaves, and straightforward quotes — and installed by people who care about the joint lines as much as the slab.

From quarry to your home

How a block of stone becomes your floor

  1. 01 · QuarryChoosing the block

Every great floor starts at the quarry. We inspect blocks for colour, soundness and veining, and reserve blocks that suit our clients’ projects — through our own stockyard in Makrana and trusted partners abroad.

  2. 02 · BlockSawing into slabs

Blocks are cut on gang saws into slabs of consistent thickness. Slabs from one block are numbered and kept in sequence, so they can later be book-matched or laid in order across a floor.

  3. 03 · SlabFinishing and selection

Slabs are polished, honed or leathered, then graded. You choose your actual slabs with us — and our workshop plans each cut, edge profile and book-match on the slab itself.

  4. 04 · Your homeLaid, polished, handed over

Our project team measures, lays, grouts and polishes on site, so the floor reads as one surface. Years later, the same stone can be re-polished and look new again.
