Indian marble in Ahmedabad From our own Makrana stockyard
Makrana white, Ambaji and other Rajasthan and Gujarat marbles — durable, economical for large areas and sourced directly through our family’s stockyard.
Indian marble, straight from the source
Makrana in Rajasthan has supplied marble for India’s most famous monuments, and it is where Stonedge keeps its own stockyard. Buying through our own yard means we see the blocks before they are cut, choose the slabs ourselves and can supply consistent quantities for large homes and builder projects in Ahmedabad.
Indian marble covers a wide range: the famously bright, fine-grained white of Makrana; Ambaji white from north Gujarat; and many Rajasthan varieties in white, pink, green and grey. Many Indian marbles are dense and hard-wearing, which makes them a practical, economical choice for large floor areas, stairs, temples and exteriors.
Where Indian marble shines
- Large floor areas — whole-house flooring, corridors and lobbies where consistency and budget matter.
- Puja rooms and temples — traditional white Makrana for floors, mandirs and carving.
- Staircases and terraces — durable varieties in thicker sections.
- Combining with Italian marble — Indian marble for everyday floors, Italian marble for feature walls and living areas.

Varieties
Popular kinds of Indian marble
- Makrana white — fine-grained, bright and translucent; the marble of India’s great monuments and the traditional choice for temples and puja rooms.
- Makrana Albeta and Dungri — Makrana marbles with grey or brownish veining, popular for floors.
- Ambaji white — from north Gujarat; a bright white with soft veining, widely used in Gujarati homes.
- Rajasthan coloured marbles — greens from Udaipur, pinks, beiges and greys from quarries across the state.
- Banswara and Rajsamand whites — economical whites for large floor areas.
Grades within each variety differ in whiteness, patches, veining and slab size. We show you the actual lots available and explain the trade-offs between grades so you can match quality to each room — premium slabs for the living room, economical grades for utility areas.
Laying Indian marble well
Good Indian marble floors depend on careful laying: a level bed, minimal joints, lippage-free alignment and a final on-site grinding and polishing so the floor becomes one continuous surface. Our project teams handle the whole process.

Makrana
Why our Makrana stockyard matters
Indian marble quality can vary a lot within one quarry. Having our own stockyard lets us grade slabs ourselves, keep lots from the same block together, and plan dispatches to Ahmedabad so your site receives matched material in the order it will be laid. For builders and repeat B2B clients it also means reliable supply across phases of a project.
Price & care
Price factors and maintenance
Indian marble is priced by variety, grade (ground colour, patches and veining), slab size, thickness and finish. Whole-house quantities from a single lot give the most consistent result. Like all marble, it should be sealed after installation, cleaned with pH-neutral products and protected from acidic spills; worn floors can be re-polished on site.
