Polished Michelangelo marble slab with warm white ground and fine gold veins

Marble dealers in Ahmedabad Italian & Indian marble

Imported Italian marbles and fine Indian marble from Rajasthan and all over India, chosen slab by slab for floors, walls and statement pieces — and cut, finished and installed by our own team.

Marble in Ahmedabad, chosen the way our family always has

Marble is the most personal stone you can choose for a home. No two slabs are alike, and the difference between a good floor and a great one is usually decided long before installation — at the moment the slabs are selected. That is why Stonedge sells marble the way we have for two generations: by walking the blocks, matching slabs across a whole project and showing clients the real stone, not a catalogue swatch.

We supply both Italian marble and Indian marble to homeowners, architects, interior designers and builders across Ahmedabad. Our own stockyard in Makrana, Rajasthan gives us direct access to India’s most famous marble, while our imported range includes classic Italian whites and dramatic coloured marbles for feature walls.

Italian marble or Indian marble?

Italian marbles such as Statuario, Carrara and Botticino are prized for their colour, depth of polish and distinctive veining. They are usually chosen for living rooms, foyers, feature walls and bathrooms where the stone is the centrepiece. Indian marble — from Makrana, Ambaji and other Rajasthan and Gujarat quarries — is harder-wearing in many varieties, available in larger quantities and more economical for big floor areas. Many Ahmedabad homes use both: Italian marble where it will be admired, Indian marble where it will be walked on most.

Applications

Where marble works best in a home

  • Flooring — living and dining rooms, foyers and bedrooms. Large-format slabs and careful vein matching make a floor feel continuous.
  • Wall cladding — book-matched feature walls behind sofas, beds and TV units, and double-height lobby walls.
  • Bathrooms and vanities — walls, counters and shower areas in honed or polished finish.
  • Staircases — solid treads and risers with bull-nose or square edges, cut in our workshop.
  • Kitchens — possible with the right expectations; marble etches with acids, so many clients prefer quartzite or granite for the main counter.

Pricing

What decides the price of marble

Marble is priced per square foot, but the same name can cover very different qualities. Rather than publish a single rate, we quote after understanding your area and application. These are the factors that move the price:

  1. Variety and grade — rarer stones and premium grades (whiter ground, fewer patches, consistent veining) cost more.
  2. Slab size — large slabs with fewer joints carry a premium but look far better on open floors.
  3. Thickness — 16–18 mm is common for floors; 20 mm and above for counters, stairs and exteriors.
  4. Finish — polished, honed and leather finishes differ in processing time.
  5. Quantity and matching — buying a full lot from one block keeps colour consistent across rooms.
  6. Fabrication and installation — book-matching, edge profiles, cut-outs, laying and final polishing.

Share your drawings or approximate areas on the enquiry form and we will suggest options at different budgets.

Care & maintenance

Keeping marble beautiful

  • Seal marble after installation and re-seal every one to two years, especially in kitchens and bathrooms.
  • Wipe spills quickly — lemon, vinegar, tomato and many cleaners can etch a polished surface.
  • Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and a soft mop; avoid acidic or abrasive products.
  • Use felt pads under furniture and doormats at entrances to keep grit off the floor.
  • Dull or scratched areas can be honed and re-polished on site — a marble floor can be renewed many times.

Marble buying questions

Where can I see marble slabs in Ahmedabad?

At the Stonedge Display Center on VIP Road, S.P. Ring Road, Shela (near Bharat Petrol Pump), open Mon–Sat 10 am – 7 pm · Sun 10 am – 2 pm. Full slabs are on display so you can judge veining and colour in daylight.

Which marble is best for flooring?

For high-traffic floors choose a harder marble with a consistent ground, in 16–18 mm thickness. Italian whites such as Statuario and Carrara give a luxurious look; Indian marbles from Makrana are durable and economical for large areas.

Does marble scratch or stain easily?

Marble is softer than granite, so it can scratch and etch with acids. Sealing, quick cleaning of spills and pH-neutral cleaners keep it in good condition, and worn areas can be re-polished.

What thickness of marble should I use?

Typically 16–18 mm for floors and walls, 20 mm or more for countertops, stairs and exteriors. We advise on thickness based on the slab and application.

Can you match marble across all the rooms of a house?

Yes. We recommend buying a complete lot from the same block and laying out the slabs before cutting, so veining and colour flow naturally from room to room.

Do you install marble as well?

Yes. Our in-house workshop handles cutting, book-matching and edge work, and our project team lays, grouts and polishes the stone on site.
