Absolute Black granite in Ahmedabad Absolute Black, pure and graphic
A deep, almost uniform black granite — the cleanest dark surface in natural stone, for sleek kitchens, stairs and façades.
About Absolute Black granite
Absolute Black is the name given to the most uniform, deep-black granites, quarried mainly in South India. With a fine grain and very few visible crystals, it reads as a solid, inky surface — a favourite of architects for minimal kitchens, contemporary staircases and crisp façade details.
It is among the densest granites, with very low water absorption, which makes it highly resistant to staining and ideal for both indoor and outdoor use.
Finishes change everything
- Polished — mirror-black and reflective; dramatic on counters and walls.
- Leather — soft sheen and gentle texture that hides fingerprints and water spots.
- Honed — deep matt charcoal; very contemporary.
- Flamed — textured, slip-resistant and lighter grey; for steps and exteriors.
Best uses
Kitchen countertops and islands, staircases, bathroom vanities, window sills, façade cladding, signage and monuments. Polished Absolute Black shows smudges more than speckled granite, so many homeowners choose a leather finish for kitchens.
Quality tip
Genuine Absolute Black should be uniformly black throughout the slab. Ask for the full slab and an edge view — consistent colour through the thickness is a sign of quality.
