Carrara marble in Ahmedabad Carrara, quietly timeless
A soft grey-white Italian marble with fine, feathery veining — elegant, versatile and easier to live with than the boldest whites.
About Carrara marble
Carrara marble is quarried around the town of Carrara in Tuscany, one of the oldest continuously worked marble regions in the world. Its ground is a gentle white to light grey, with fine, soft grey veins that feather across the surface rather than cutting through it. The effect is calm and consistent, which makes Carrara a favourite for larger areas where a bolder marble would feel busy.
Compared with Statuario, Carrara is greyer and more uniform, and it is generally more accessible in price. It suits both classic and contemporary interiors and pairs beautifully with brass, walnut and white joinery.
Best uses
- Bathrooms — walls, floors, vanities and shower areas, often honed.
- Floors — living rooms, bedrooms and corridors in large-format slabs.
- Wall cladding — a softer alternative to Statuario for feature walls.
- Furniture and accents — table tops, consoles and window sills.
Finishes, care and price
Polished Carrara has a gentle sheen; honed Carrara has a velvety, contemporary feel and hides minor etching well. Seal after installation and clean with pH-neutral products. Price depends on grade (whiteness and consistency), slab size, thickness and finish — ask us for options to suit your area and budget.
